GETTING DOWN TO Monkey Business

We took a familiar format, a Photoshop tutorial, and twisted it into something cheeky and unexpected. Using a collage style and computer UI elements like cursors, menus, and loading bars, we let an eccentric narrator guide viewers through the “process” of turning an ordinary night into a Monkey Shoulder one. Layered 2.5D animation, CG assets, and offbeat humor gave the piece its visual and tonal edge.

Just as things hit a rhythm, the whole world unraveled—literally. A hand burst onto the screen, hijacked the edit, and flipped everything upside down. The once-static characters broke free, channeling full Monkey Shoulder energy and reminding us that great nights don’t follow tutorials.
